What does "Dondake" even mean?
Pronounced don-da-keh, it is a playful Japanese slang term that loosely translates to “seriously?!” — usually said with dramatic flair when reacting to something unexpected or over-the-top. It perfectly captures our spirit as a team: creative, bold, a bit ridiculous, and always pushing boundaries. We’re not your typical agency — and we like it that way.

We are five organisers, each with unique professional backgrounds — in software engineering, graphic design, sales, operations, and event production — but united by a shared vision: to make bold ideas real. What sets us apart is not just our individual experience, but the way our skills complement each other. We're a multidisciplinary team that speaks the language of both creativity and execution — whether that means deploying a secure full-stack platform, managing a €350,000 event budget, directing social media campaigns, or welcoming 25,000 guests to a convention space.
That synergy is what powers Cyprus Comic Con. What began in 2014 as a grassroots, one-day event at a university has become the country's largest cultural festival — and one of the region's leading pop culture conventions. It now spans over 10,000 square metres, draws more than 22,000 attendees annually, and supports hundreds of artists, exhibitors, creators, and performers from across the globe.
As the full-time core team behind CCC, we've shaped everything from logistics and staging to brand identity, partnerships, and international guest bookings. We didn't just organise a convention — we built a platform for creativity, community, and commerce that spans the entire year.
More than an event, CCC is a cultural force. It brings together cosplay, gaming, STEM education, film, music, food, and fandom into one inclusive, intergenerational celebration. Our work has helped spotlight Cypriot talent, attract global recognition, and create a space where everyone — from medieval reenactors to indie developers — has a stage. All of this has been achieved as a non-profit, volunteer-powered initiative driven by passion and purpose.

The idea for Cyprus Comic Con started as a casual conversation at our spiritual home and local comic book shop, Ant Comics.
Levelled Up to Filoxenia
CCC outgrows its first venue
After CCC14's overwhelming success with >5k visitors, we moved to the Filoxenia Conference Centre in Nicosia.
Move to the Largest Venue in CY
Kratiki Ekthesi is where it's at!
We outgrew Filoxenia and relocated to the Cyprus State Fair grounds — and never looked back. It remains the largest venue in Cyprus.
Pandemic Pause
A quiet break — but not for long
CCC went on hiatus from 2020 to 2022, but the community never stopped growing.
Dondake Launchpad
We quit our jobs to go all in!
Five full-time organisers dedicated 100% to CCC and Dondake client projects.
Record Breaking Year

CCC becomes the biggest event of its kind in Cyprus as well as one of the most expansive and attended in the direct region with ~10% of visitors travelling from abroad.
