Behind Every Project is

A Passionate Team

Creators of Cyprus Comic Con - your full-service creative multitool for code, design, marketing, and live experiences at the heart of Cyprus' biggest pop culture event.

What does "Dondake" even mean?

Pronounced don-da-keh, it is a playful Japanese slang term that loosely translates to "seriously?!" - usually said with dramatic flair when reacting to something unexpected or over-the-top. It perfectly captures our spirit as a team: creative, bold, a bit ridiculous, and always pushing boundaries. We're not your typical agency - and we like it that way.

Why We Work

We are five very different people with very different skills, which is honestly the whole point. We were friends first and business partners second, and that probably explains why this works. One of us might be thinking about design, another about code, another about logistics, another about partnerships, and another about how to get people to actually care. Separately, that would be chaos. Together, it works weirdly well.

Insight meets execution - and that's what makes us a powerhouse.

We're not the kind of team that throws an idea over the wall and hopes someone else figures it out. We make the thing, brand the thing, market the thing, build the thing, organise the thing, and then probably stay up too late fixing the thing.

That mix means we can move across branding, design, digital, marketing, partnerships, logistics, and live events without pretending to be a giant agency with fifty departments and a pointless flowchart.

Cyprus Comic Con is the best example of how that works: five people with different brains, different strengths, and one shared baby that somehow grew into something massive.

Our baby, Cyprus Comic Con

Cyprus Comic Con is the biggest, weirdest, most demanding thing we've built together, and we mean that lovingly. It takes all five of us doing what we do best at the same time: design, code, marketing, logistics, partnerships, guest wrangling, problem solving, and the occasional controlled panic.

What started in 2014 as a one-day university event somehow grew into Cyprus' biggest pop culture event and one of the region's most ambitious creative conventions. By 2025, it had grown to more than 11,000 square metres, with about 32,000 ticketed visitors and up to 8,000 more coming through the free outdoor festival and parallel events.

We're the full-time core team behind it, which means we've had our hands in everything from branding and staging to partnerships, international guest bookings, ticketing, comms, and making sure the whole thing doesn't catch fire.

It's not just a big weekend out, either. CCC brings together cosplay, gaming, STEM, film, music, food, fandom, and a lot of gloriously niche nonsense under one roof. It gives Cypriot talent a proper stage, pulls in international guests and creators, and creates space for everyone from indie developers to medieval reenactors. In 2025, that meant more than 300 creators, over 100 exhibitors, and a very healthy mix of local and international participation.

So yes, we call it our baby because we built it from scratch, stressed over it for years, and watched it become far bigger than the original plan. If you want proof that we can turn a chaotic idea into something real, this is it.

Gold magazine special awards issue featuring the Cyprus Comic Con team for the Young Dragon Awards

Recognition

Special Award at the 2nd CBN Young Dragon Awards

In February 2026, the five of us were honoured with the Special Award Young Dragon Entrepreneurs at the 2nd CBN Young Dragon Awards.

We are genuinely proud of it, not just because it is an award, but because it recognises the years of work behind Dondake and Cyprus Comic Con: the long days, the risky ideas, the constant problem-solving, and the stubborn belief that we could build something meaningful together.

For us, it matters because it recognises the team as a whole. Different skills, different personalities, one shared effort - and a lot of care poured into building something that grew far beyond its original size.

Our Journey

2011

OtakuCy

A fandom becomes a family

OtakuCy is an anime and cosplay community that laid the groundwork for future events.

OtakuCy was where it all began - a group of friends who volunteered and organised themed cosplay parties, anime screenings, and community events. We built trust, skills, and shared ambition through creative community-building, even collaborating with the Embassy of Japan.

2013

Cyprus Comic Con is Born

A group of friends dreams bigger

The idea for Cyprus Comic Con started as a casual conversation at our spiritual home and local comic book shop.

Friends and members of OtakuCY came together at our regular hangout spot and began dreaming up something larger - a full-scale convention. The founding team was a blend of artists, community organisers, retail managers, and creatives from comic shops, video game stores, and the OtakuCY crew. Those meetings laid the foundation for what would become Cyprus Comic Con.

2014

The First CCC

From idea to actual event

The first Cyprus Comic Con launched as a one-day event at the European University Cyprus and brought in around 4,000 visitors.

This was the moment the idea stopped being talk and became a real thing. CCC14 was our first proper shot at building something bigger for the local community, and the response was wild. Around 4,000 people showed up, which gave us the very clear message that Cyprus was more than ready for this.

2015

Levelled Up to Filoxenia

CCC outgrows its first venue

After CCC14's overwhelming success, we moved to the Filoxenia Conference Centre in Nicosia.

The support for our first event blew us away, massive community buzz, and a clear message: Cyprus needed this. For CCC15 and CCC16, we relocated to Filoxenia Conference Centre in Nicosia, gaining more space, better infrastructure, and a chance to scale the experience. It was our first real leap forward.

2017

Move to the Largest Venue in CY

Cyprus State Fair is where it's at!

We outgrew Filoxenia and relocated to the Cyprus State Fair grounds - and never looked back. It remains the largest venue in Cyprus.

The community kept growing, and so did the event. In 2017, we moved CCC to the State Fair, also known as Kratiki Ekthesi, finally getting the space we needed to expand. From here on, attendance grew by the thousands each year, turning CCC into a major national event.

2020

Pandemic Pause

A quiet break - but not for long

CCC went on hiatus from 2020 to 2022, but the community never stopped growing.

Like many major events around the world, Cyprus Comic Con paused operations during the COVID-19 pandemic. While we couldn’t host live events, the fanbase only grew stronger - and when we returned in 2023, the turnout showed just how much people had missed it.

2024

Dondake Launchpad

We quit our jobs to go all in!

Five full-time organisers dedicated 100% to CCC and Dondake client projects.

In 2024, we took the leap - leaving our full-time roles to focus fully on Dondake and Cyprus Comic Con. What started as a side hustle became a full-fledged creative and tech agency. From mall events and flagship conventions to brand launches, websites, and marketing campaigns, we delivered dozens of projects for clients and communities alike.

2024

Record Breaking Year

22,000 visitors

CCC becomes the biggest event of its kind in Cyprus, drawing 22,000 attendees to its biggest edition up to that point.

In 2024, Cyprus Comic Con reached a new high with 22,000 attendees at its biggest edition to date. From international guests to fully packed panels, cosplay championships, and a sprawling outdoor festival, CCC cemented its place as the country's most celebrated pop culture event.

2025

Full Year Activation

Mall Events + Flagships

Expanded CCC to 8+ themed events a year across different venues and formats.

With eight themed pop-up events across major malls, CCC became a year-round presence in Cyprus. Each event blends fandom, creativity, and community - from Otaku Day to NecroComicCon - giving artists, fans, and brands more ways to connect than ever before.

2025

Bigger Than Ever

40k main event + 400 exhibitors

CCC hit a new level in 2025 with around 40,000 attendees at the main event and more than 400 exhibitors.

By 2025, Cyprus Comic Con had grown into something properly huge. It was no longer just one big weekend, but a year-round presence with enough scale to bring in major crowds, fill the floor with exhibitors, and keep the community active well beyond the flagship event.
